On the 30th of June, the second training session on the Anthemountas catchment area was held in Thessaloniki. The event was organised by Αριστοτέλειο Πανεπιστήμιο Θεσσαλονίκης | Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) and attended by local, regional authorities and various institutions.
This session was mainly devoted to the involvement of the stakeholders in flood risk management, as well as raising public awareness. A co-creation workshop was held to identify the stakeholders related to flood risk management, as well as their responsibilities and the multi-dimensional links between them. The second part of the meeting focused on analysing the results of the risk perception survey carried out among local residents. The educational materials currently being developed by LocAll4Flood were also presented, and participants discussed potential actions to be taken to improve public awareness.
A field trip was finally arranged to ascertain the issues surrounding the risk of flooding from the river Anthemountas, in this case as it flows through the village of Vasilika, located in the heart of the valley.
