The LocAll4Flood consortium gathered in Varna, Bulgaria, on 28 and 29 October to officially advance its Transfer phase. The meeting brought together project partners and new transfer partners to exchange knowledge, identify implementation challenges and plan the transfer of the governance model tested throughout the project.
The meeting focused on introducing the new transfer partners and exploring the specific contexts of the pilot sites in Shabla and Sarajevo. Representatives from these territories presented their main characteristics and local challenges, helping partners assess how the LocAll4Flood governance model could be adapted and implemented in different contexts. The discussions also addressed the practical steps required to transfer the model, monitor its implementation and amplify the project’s results across the participating territories.
A key priority of the meeting was to discuss implementation plans for mainstreaming activities in Bulgaria, Catalonia and Malta. Partners explored how they could integrate LocAll4Flood results into local and regional practices and translate the project’s experience into policy recommendations. These discussions aim to support the long-term uptake of the project’s governance approach and strengthen cooperation between territories facing similar flood-related challenges. The two-day meeting also addressed the assessment of communication and dissemination activities, the role of the Euro-MED Academy and the next steps for project budget management, monitoring and reporting. Representatives of the Natural Heritage Mission also presented the upcoming Interreg Euro-MED Mid-term Event in Marseille, providing partners with information about this important opportunity to connect with other projects and stakeholders across the programme.
On 29 October, the consortium concluded the meeting with a visit to the pilot site in Shabla and the Durankulak Lake. The visit allowed partners to discover the local context and gain a better understanding of the conditions and challenges that will shape the transfer of the LocAll4Flood governance model.
