During the 25, 26, 27 November, LocAll4Flood took part in the Institutional Dialogue of the Interreg Euro-MED Natural Heritage Mission, co-organised by MedCities and CREAF. The event took place in the framework of the 10th Regional Forum of the Union for the Mediterranean and the 30th anniversary of the Barcelona Process, a key moment for reflecting on shared Mediterranean challenges and strengthening cooperation for the protection of natural heritage across the region.
This high-level dialogue opened with a focus on the Pact for the Mediterranean, the implementation of the Nature Restoration Regulation, and the need to reinforce multi-level governance. Participants highlighted the importance of involving regional authorities and local actors in the development of national restoration plans to ensure effective, place-based solutions.
In this context, the project partners from BETA Technological Center, showcased the project’s contribution to flood resilience across Spain, Malta, Italy, Greece and Bulgaria through shared governance models and locally adapted actions such as the training programs and co-creation workshops. BETA also presented LocAll4Flood’s early-warning system, alongside other projects working on the prevention of natural hazards such as wildfires and sea level rise.
The conference concluded with a dynamic networking session, where LocAll4Flood’s educational materials and its innovative approaches to risk prevention generated great interest among Mediterranean stakeholders.
This exchange further strengthened synergies between ongoing initiatives and reinforced the project’s contribution to a more resilient and climate-prepared Mediterranean region.
