The final round of LocAll4Flood training sessions is underway across the project’s pilot areas, with a strong emphasis on nature-based solutions (NBS) as key tools for mitigating the impacts of flooding.
In Malta, the Energy and Water Agency (EWA) led this third session which included a co-creation workshop in two parts.
- First, the participants worked collaboratively to identify the main benefits, barriers and trade-offs associated with nature-based solutions.
- Later on, they analysed the relationships between these factors and developed scenario-based insights into how these elements might evolve over time depending on the degree to which NBS are implemented.
The session concluded with a plenary discussion, providing an open space for participants to exchange perspectives, share knowledge, and reflect on the relevance of NBS for flood resilience in the Maltese context.
