The first LocAll4Flood workshop was held on June 13, attended by around forty participants online. In addition to the project partners, the meeting was open to flood management experts. The main aim of the meeting was to present and validate the work carried out over the last few months on the flood management model, which will subsequently be tested in catchment areas in the Mediterranean region.
First of all, the particularities of urban, industrial, rural and coastal areas in the face of flooding were discussed. An integrated warning system was then elaborated. To better understand how people living in flood-prone areas perceive the risk, a survey has been conceived and will be sent to around 400 people per catchment area. Lastly, research of nature-based solutions for flood mitigation is to be used to propose those best suited to Mediterranean regions.
