Aristotle University of Thessaloniki presents research results at Panhellenic Conference of the Hellenic Hydrotechnical Association

20/06/2025

LocAll4Flood’s Greek partners, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, are currently working on flood forecasting. In this context, they are developing Wave4Us, an operational met-ocean forecasting platform. It integrates the latest developments in all its modelling components (upgraded and implemented in the framework of the LocAll4Flood project to meet its objectives for the prediction of compound and flash-flood events) with a particular focus on floods that mainly affect coastal areas (natural and urban). This platform applies to the Gulf of Thermaikos, in Central Macedonia, which also includes the coastal area of the Anthemountas pilot catchment. The 16th Panhellenic Conference of the Hellenic Hydrotechnical Association (HHA), held in Xanthi on the 29th and 30th of May 2025, provided a valuable opportunity to present the latest advances in Wave4us, as well as the application of the Rain on Grid Method to a Hydraulic Model for Flash Flood Forecasts.

The following two research papers have been presented (in Greek):
