The first ever meeting of the LocAll4flood partnership took place on April 8 and 9 in the Catalan city of Vic (Spain), home to the BETA Technological Centre, the project leader. The meeting was very useful for getting to know each other and discussing the first steps in the project.
Among the priorities of the initial phase of LocAll4flood, the partnership discussed and agreed on the characteristics of the topographical areas subject to flash floods that will be studied and tested. The aim is to take account of the specific characteristics of rural, urban, industrial and coastal areas with regard to flooding phenomena.
Another important aspect of the fight against flash floods is the integration of stakeholders affected by the risk. Thanks to a collective brainstorming exercise, a detailed schema of a wide range of stakeholders (public authorities, economic agents, civil society, etc.) has emerged, which will help to feed into the design of the governance model.
